HOW MUCH ARE Dota 2 players in the Philippines earning? What are the operating expenditures involved?
These questions were answered by Pinoy Dota 2 player, Carlo "Kuku" Palad during a livestream session, where he listed a sample costing of a Dota 2 team.
Here's what he revealed.

Capital and Operating Expenditures
- Computers and equipment - P100,000 per PC (multiply by five since there are five members in a Dota 2 team) = P500,000
- Rent - P40,000/month for a two bedroom condominium
- Food and electricity - P100,000/month
- Housekeeper's salary - P15,000/month
Player Salaries
A player's salary depends on the accolades and achievements of the player, as players who have reached The International would earn more. When Kuku jotted down a sample price tag, it was highlighted that Dota 2 teams in the PH earn around six digits per month.
Here's a sample list from Kuku:
- Hard Carry - P120,000/month
- Midlane - P200,000/month
- Offlane - P250,000/month
- Roaming support - P400,000/month
- Hard support - P500,000/month
Overall the expenditures could range around P20 million per year. Kuku then highlighted that this amount is considered thrifty.
As the stream went on, Kuku played around the numbers, where he even listed an estimated price tag on Blacklist Rivalry's salary. He even made a salary cap featuring his TNC teammates.
Given what Kuku revealed in his livestream, many questions could be raised. Are Dota 2 players the highest earners in the Philippine esports landscape? Most importantly, how are organizations, maintaining revenues despite the high expenditures?
