AT EXACTLY 10:15 am, a 59-year-old Aurora MLBB fan Lolit Habana was already at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport. She was one of the first who arrived at the venue to show her support to her favorite team, who will compete in the M6 World Championship.
"Kami yung unang nag-arrive, mga 10:15 am. Syempre kailangan mauna lagi. Mas magandang on-time kaysa ma-late," she revealed in an exclusive with SPIN.ph.
The players of the Northern Lights were expected to arrive at the airport at around one in the afternoon, and Lolit waited under the scorching sun, then entered the airport, where she could feel the cold breeze of the air conditioner.
Eventually there were other Aurora fans who also followed her in wishing the team all the best in their M6 campaign. Like some of the Aurora fans, Lolit has been following the team ever since some of its members were a part of Blacklist International.
"Actually from V33Wise talaga," she started. "Fans din ako nilang lahat, lalo na sina Edward, Renejay, Yue," she revealed.
As to why she admires them? Lolit said: "Magaling naman talaga sila. Tsaka talagang nandun yung kagustuhan nilang mag-champion, na manalo para sa Pilipinas."
A heart of gold
But Lolit's love for the team doesn't just end with the players as it even extends all the way to the community.
Every weekend, Aurora fans would swarm the MPL venue, even going as far as overwhelming the stage. Due to the sheer volume of fans, tickets tend to sell out during their matches.
Oftentimes Lolit would put her hopes on securing tickets, and even when her attempts were unsuccessful, she would end up receiving tickets.
"Kapag ticket selling, nag-aabang talaga ako kasi ang bilis maubos lalo na kapag Aurora. Talagang mahirap maghanap ng ticket. Kapag naubusan naman ako ng ticket may mga group na syempre sila yung magbibigay sa akin ng ticket."
And in return she would do the same.
"And then ako rin nagbibigay rin ako ng ticket. Kapag hindi ako pwede dahil sa work, talagang binibigay ko. Sayang e."
At the end of the day her efforts of supporting the team would yield a lot of smiles. Travelling all the way from Manila to the airport finally gave her the chance to approach the team, show them some love, secure their signatures, and Lolit is hoping that her time with the team could serve as a good luck charm for Aurora's bid, to light up the celestials and seize their victory.
