THE ADOBO GANG is back in the VCT Pacific Playoffs after winning their week 3 series against Paper Rex (PRX) and Detonation Focus Me (DFM).

Team Secret earned their second win after shocking tournament favorites PRX (2-0) on Sunday.

It was a dominant series from Team Secret’s young guns with Invy dropping 25 frags on Icebox for the 13-9 win in map 1. Meanwhile, Jremy would equalize the tournament’s Kill record in map 2, getting himself a monster 30 kills on Sunset for the 13-8 win and completing the sweep.

“I think overall, we played really well. The focus coming into the matches was to have a lot better communication and teamwork, and I think we had that. We're hitting our shots. We’re winning clutches. We had really big, like 3 K's and 4 K's. So yeah, I think we came up really big today,” Team Secret Coach Warbirds told the media after their win against PRX.

Warbirds also shared that the team focused on their comms in preparation against PRX.

“I think it's just like chaos control is what we practice a lot heading into this week. So just making sure that we can smoothen out the comms. Comms is really, really, really important versus a team that plays very chaotic like Paper Rex. So I think that's kind of why, it’s that focus.” He said.

Securing the Playoff spot against DFM

Team Secret would earn their Playoff slot on Tuesday after beating Japan’s DFM 2-1. Team Secret looked in control of the series handly beating DFM 13-4 on their map pick of Lotus. Their hot streak continued in their own map pick of Breeze going up 8-4 by the half. DFM would make a huge comeback in the second half taking the map 13-9 and forcing a decider.

The decider was a one-sided affair with Team Secret earning themselves a clean 12-0 half. DFM would try to hold their ground winning the pistol and anti-eco round in the second half, but it was all for naught as Team Secret would close out the series in their first gun round.

“I think overall we played really well. I think second map we let up on the gas pedal a little bit, but I think overall we played really well our energy was really high and our comms were good.” Warbird said in an interview after the game against DFM.

“I think the second map; it’s just small individual mistakes that we can fix further,” Invy added.

PRX's win against Global Esports following the DFM match ultimately gave Secret the playoff spot as they avoided any possible tiebreaker scenario for a playoff spot.

Despite their playoff spot being secured, coach Warbirds explained that the team is still focused on their final match before thinking ahead.

“So for us, we just take it game by game. Playoffs are in the future, but right now we’re focusing on our next match so we take it one step at a time,” he said.

There’s still a possibility that Secret come out of Group Alpha as the number one seed. The team needs to sweep Talon Esports on Sunday and hope that RRQ dominantly sweeps Gen G for a tie-break scenario.
