Team Secret makes major changes, says goodbye to Borkum and Coach Warbirds

AFTER A DISAPPOINTING end to the first stage of VCT Pacific 2024, Team Secret has announced a couple of roster changes in preparation for stage 2 of the tournament.

In an announcement posted in their social media accounts, Team Secret has announced the departure of longtime controller player Jim “BORKUM” Timbreza as well as the benching of rookie Sentinel player Noel “NDG” De Guia.

BORKUM has been with the team since they were bannering Bren Esports. His clutch plays earned him the title “BORKUM Time” while his wacky walk-out during Valorant Champions 2021 made him an immediate international favorite.

Meanwhile NDG, was a promising rookie who was finding his stride during Team Secret’s run in Stage 1. Prior to his stint with Team Secret, NDG was part of the NAOS Esports squad that won the Philippine leg of the Valorant Challenger 2023 and fought for Ascension in Thailand.

Warbirds out for Team Secret

A day after the departure of BORKUM, the team also announced the removal of longtime Team Secret coach, Evan “Warbirds” Olzem from his coaching duties. Warbirds had been with the team since 2022 just after the announcement of franchising.

Replacing Warbirds will be assistant coach Tim “dummy” Olson. Dummy joined Team Secret in the middle of VCT Stage 1, and had been working with the team for their Stage 1 playoffs run.

No announcement has been made for the two replacement players.

UPDATE: Team Secret introduces new players

Team Secret has announced that James “2GE” Goopio and Bhreyanne “Wild0reoo” Reyes will join the squad for the second stage of the VCT. 2GE last played for RRQ in VCT Pacific as their reserved player, he last stood-in in Stage 1 when RRQ took on Global Esports. Meanwhile, Wild0reoo has played for Oasis Gaming since 2021.
