THE DEFENDING MSC champions, Selangor Red Giants OG Esports, can make history to be the first team to secure back-to-back trophies, but it won't be an easy task especially since they're up against the reigning MPL PH champs Team Liquid PH.
As the curtain closes for the MSC 2025 tournament, it was the Cavalry who lifted the trophy. After numerous attempts of trying their best to win the MSC trophy, the curse has finally been lifted.
Team Liquid PH outclassed SRG.OG, securing a 4-1 stomp in the grand finals.
The cavalry charges were too much
SRG went guns blazing with a Game 1 victory as it seems they have found solutions to deal with Team Liquid's barrage. Mark "Kramm" Rusiana's Cici was a key catalyst as he managed to punish the Cavalry, which was perfectly complimented by Muhammad Haqqullah "Sekys" Ahmad Shahrul Zaman's Akai who created awkward positionings for the PH squad.
While Kramm was the star of the show in Game 1, the following matchup saw Sanford "Sanford" Vinuya exact his revenge as his Lapu-Lapu was the game changer for Team Liquid to bounce back.
With him charging towards John "Innocent" Banal, SRG's damage was severely limited and this was further hampered when Jaypee "Jaypee" Dela Cruz follows up with his Gatotkaca.
But Sanford's heroics didn't just end in Game 2 as he made an exclamation point in Game 3 as well. His Gloo and flicker combo changed the entire script as his 8th and 14th minute heroics created space for Kiel "Oheb" Soriano to wreck through the backlines of SRG and yield another win for TLPH.
With momentum on their side, Team Liquid stampeded past their rivals as they crushed SRG in Game 4. Jaypee completely checkmated Sekyss which produced a 10-minute domination.
Now only one last game left for Team Liquid and just like in previous battles, the Cavalry was simply faultless. SRG was simply no match from the power of the Filipino squad and they were forced to concede their trophy.
At last Team Liquid PH are MSC 2025 champions, bringing home $1,000,000 (Php58 million). Due to his efforts Sanford was awarded the Finals MVP.
Team Liquid has finally brought the Philippines back to MSC glory, which last happened back in MSC 2022 when RSG Philippines won it all.
This also secures Karl "KarlTzy" Nepomuceno's MSC trophy, completing his MLBB championship cabinet.
