Yung morale sakto lang na bumaba," that's what coach Robert "Trebor" Sanchez said after their opening day loss vs. Team Liquid in an exclusive with SPIN.ph.
But after their loss, Team Falcons PH bounced back and defeated Smart Omega with a commanding 2-0 sweep on Day 3 of MPL Philippines Season 15.
Facing early struggles, Team Falcons quickly adapted, making necessary changes while gaining confidence-boosting support from their team manager, Darren Paul “Ren” Vitug.
“Napag-usapan lang namin mga errors namin tapos ang laking tulong din nung manager namin na si sir Ren. Yung mga thoughts niya sa mga pagkakamali namin. Kaya tingin ko dun din na-boost mga moral namin,” head coach Robert “Trebor” Sanchez said.
Reigniting their fiery instincts
Team Falcons did not dwell too much on defeat but rather ignited their resilient spirit as advised by their team manager.
“Laging mag-reset agad pag natalo kasi tapos na yun,” he added.
Drafting can make or break a game and can even dictate what outcomes might unfold. Team Falcons admitted that they were outsmarted in drafting yesterday in their matchup against Team Liquid Philippines, but that changed today.
“Inaral po namin yung mga mistakes namin kahapon na mga crucial mistakes namin individually and as a team. Kaya nag-bounce back kami ngayon. Make sure namin na hindi namin magagawa yung mga mali na yun ngayon,” David “FlapTzy” Canon explained.
FlapTzy embodied being a falcon with a keen eye for detail, spotting even their smallest in-game mechanical nuances that Liquid PH took advantage of.
“Pati sa galaw, kumbaga, may mga errors kami na maliliit, pero sa maliliit na error na yun, na-maximize pa rin ng kalaban. Kaya bumawi kami ngayon,” he added.
Team Falcons gold laner Marco Stephen "Super Marco" Requitiano may be a man of few words, but he had something to say about their performance against Smart Omega today.
“Sa performance, siguro mas naging disiplinado yung bawat galaw. Parang kalkulado na yung mga galaw namin.
A new challenge awaits Team Falcons as they go head-to-head with the defending world champions ONIC Philippines next Friday.
