LEE "FAKER" Sang-hyeok may be the greatest esports athlete of all time but after suffering a loss against Gen.G in LCK Summer 2024, his emotions got the best of him.
Videos have emerged in social media, where the Unkillable Demon had a breakdown moment where he slammed his head into a wall numerous times. His teammate, Lee "Gumayusi" Min-hyeong, had to restrain him.
The incident caught the attention of the community, who rallied to show their support to one of the esports greats. Hashtag We_Stand_For_Faker has been making waves on social media.
What happened between T1 vs. Gen.G?
In Game 1, T1 had a massive lead, and they could've kept on their momentum after that 31st-32nd minute clash, and securing a 14-5 kill advantage. But as the game went on, Gen.G inched their way back as they secured a come from behind victory.
Meanwhile the 2nd game was a back-and-forth clash between the two LCK giants, but a few pickoffs in favor of Gen.G sealed the deal, cementing their top seed position in the group, as well as their dominance over T1.
The past couple of matches between these two teams have been in favor of Gen.G, which included a 3-2 victory in the LCK Spring 2024 playoffs and a 1-0 win in the Worlds Championship 2023 Swiss stage.
As of today, T1 is currently ranked 4th overall in the LCK Summer 2024 group stage standings. The team still has a chance to redeem themselves as they need to win the playoff championship for them to proceed to Worlds 2024.
