RYOTA IS coming home and ONIC Philippines is betting on him to reignite their MPL championship chase. ONIC Philippines officially confirmed the return of Nowee “Ryota” Macasa for the upcoming MPL Philippines Season 16 through their social media platforms on Tuesday.
Ryota makes his way back to the local scene after an international stint with ONIC Indonesia that further sharpened his competitive edge.
Following his initial run with ONIC PH back in Season 8 to 11, Ryota reinforced Smart Omega from Season 12 to 14 before taking his talents overseas and joining ONIC Indonesia.
Now, back on home soil, Ryota reunites with the black-and-yellow squad he once called home.
His comeback could be the turning point ONIC PH needs to restore its championship form after recent setbacks in the MPL PH Season 15 and Mid-Season Cup (MSC) campaign.
This could also be a sign where the team might explore on tactical alternatives on the EXP lane role especially after the criticisms centered on Kirk during the MSC 2025 campaign.
Ryota will rejoin a roster that boasts a mix of promising young talents featuring Jann “Kirk” Gutierrez, Cyric “K1NGKONG” Perez, Frince “Super Frince” Ramirez, Duane “Kelra” Pillas, Borris James “Brusko” Parro, and Jaylord “Hate” Gonzales.
Hungry for redemption, ONIC Philippines is set to storm the MPL stage in a bid to capture the championship title once again.
