Both squads had a great showing in their most anticipated rematch, but what exactly tipped the scale?
For Renejay “Renejay” Barcarse, trust, chemistry, and the commitment to excellence were the ultimate game-changers.
“Halos wala kaming tigil sa practice. Wala na akong kaba kasi yung tiwala ako sa team sobrang buo na,” Renejay expressed, pouring endless hours in training and believing wholeheartedly in his squad.
“Habang tumatagal yung team, mas nalalaman namin yung strength namin as a team. Kumbaga, tingin ko nakasabay kami sa ginagawa din nila (ONIC Philippines) at sa META (Most Effective Tactics Available) ngayon,” Renejay said.
The odds were stacked against Aurora in their recent international campaigns, bowing out early in the M6 World Championship and ESL Snapdragon Pro Series Season 6, while also enduring heavy criticism for not meeting the high expectations placed upon them.
No matter the challenges, Renejay also trusts the learning process of molding the best version of himself, even if it hurts.
“Usually, yung mga talo kasi namin sa international, para sa akin, sa life experience din, yun talaga yung mga kailangan mong maranasan para manalo ka. Kumbaga, yun yung mas magpapa-strong sayo,” he said.
As the saying goes, the greatest test of courage is to bear defeat without losing heart, and Renejay embodied it all too well.
