ALEXANDRE "AK" LAVEREZ' dream of becoming a world Tekken champion has come to a halt as he was denied of a chance to compete in the upcoming Evolution Championship Series (EVO 2023).
On his official Facebook page, AK said: "US Embassy (3) - AK (0). Goodbye Evolution Championship Series."
His post hinted that this is the third time that that Filipino Tekken legend was denied of an opportunity to compete in the United States.

How important is EVO 2023?
EVO 2023 is considered to be an important Tekken event for AK as a victory would give him a plethora of points needed to be involved in the Tekken World Tour 2023. The winner of EVO 2023 will secure USD19,236.00 (Roughly around Php1,050,000.00) and 800 points.
Even reaching a placement finish would give AK the necessary boost to compete in the World Tour as around 150 - 400 points are on the line.
AK is currently not in the Top 50 leaderboards for the Tekken World Tour 2023, meaning his chances of competing in the most prestigious Tekken event is now in jeopardy.
EVO 2023 will commence on August 4 and it will be held in Las Vegas, Nevada, featuring some of the most renowned names in the scene such as South Korea's Bae "Knee" Jae-Min and Pakistan's Arslan "Arslan Ash" Siddique.
