AURORA Gaming Philippines was received and honored by the Philippine Senate on Tuesday following its conquest of the M7 World Championship in Jakarta, Indonesia last January.

Longtime esports advocate Senator Bam Aquino sponsored the Senate Resolution No. 276 which commends the Northern Lights for winning the entire tournament and continuing the country's dominance in the competitive global MLBB scene, extending that title streak to six starting in 2021.

Edward “Edward” Dapadap, Cedrix “Demonkite” Caranto, Kenneth “Yue” Tadeo, Dominic “Domengkite” Delmundo, and Finals MVP Dylan “Light” Catipon were dominant for the entire tournament, which they capped off with a 4-0 sweep of home favorite Alter Ego in the Grand Finals.

Senator Aquino also personally welcomed and congratulated the world champions at his office, where he was also presented with a customized Aurora Gaming PH jersey.

“Solid meet-up with Aurora Gaming PH! Happy to welcome you here at the Senate. Congrats ulit sa pagiging M7 World Champions,” the Senator wrote on his official Facebook page.

“Napagkuwentuhan namin ang Mobile Legends World Championship experience nila sa Jakarta, Indonesia—ibang level ang energy at saya ng panalo. At syempre, iba talaga ’yung feeling makita at mahawakan mismo ang M7 trophy at medal. Salamat din sa customized Aurora jersey na may pangalan ko… pang-rank game na ’to! GGWP, guys! Basta Pinoy esports player, WORLD-CLASS,” he added.

Aurora’s triumph marked them as the latest Philippine team to capture the M-Series title, reinforcing the country’s reputation as the “Home of the MLBB champions.”

They took home $320,000, the largest share of the tournament’s $1 million prize pool, following their dominant Grand Finals sweep over hometown favorites Alter Ego.
