A PHILIPPINE team participated in the very first NBA 2K League APAC Invitational, the first-ever international qualifying event last February 2 and 3 in Hong Kong.

The PlayBook Esports Team of Philippe Herrero, Custer Galas, Rial Polog Jr., Clark Banzon, and Richard Brojan joined 15 other gamers from Australia, China, and New Zealand in the battle for a spot in the 2019 NBA 2K League Draft.

The NBA 2K League APAC Invitational featured scrimmages and a double-elimination tournament. A committee will later determine who will be eligible to be included in the 2019 NBA 2K League Draft on November 2.

The first-ever NBA 2K League APAC Invitational was held to tap more potential international players for the coming seasons of the NBA 2K League.

The NBA 2K League held its inaugural season last year with 17 teams participating and Knicks Gaming beating Heat Check Gaming in the championship series, 2-0.
