Is Twisted Minds improving? Onic PH reflects on hard-earned win

ONIC PHILIPPINES staged a reverse sweep against Twisted Minds to cap off their Week 4 campaign in the MPL Philippines Season 15 regular season.

The reigning world champions ultimately triumphed in the series, but Twisted Minds made their presence felt with a strong display of improvement.

Twisted Minds put up a tough fight against ONIC Philippines, seizing early-game momentum whenever possible, which impressed the side of the Super Family.

“Siguro start natin sa magandang preparation ng Twisted Minds. Magandang execution, lalo na yung last game. I think kahit na nanalo kami, yung early nila sobrang ganda,” coach Tony “YnoT” Senedrin said.

“Sa performance ng Twisted Minds, sobrang ganda din talaga ng naging laro nila. Lalo nung early game nila since yung hero nila talaga pang early. Tatlong game kami nahirapan ng early game. Lahat naman nagpahirap sa amin. Lahat sila,” ONIC gold laner Duane “Kelra” Pillas expressed, admitting to having difficulty handling Twisted Minds' strong early game presence.

Twisted Minds wrapped up the first half of the season with remarkable progress, overcoming their early struggles in finding their rhythm in the Land of Dawn.

“Sa improvement naman nila, sobrang laki nang in-improve talaga nila. Kasi nung mga unang week, parang yung ibang game nila one-sided talaga. Ngayon, kita naman na talagang nahihirapan kami sa kanila,” Kelra added.

A Guinevere flex pick?

Taking bold risks with unique picks, Twisted Minds also introduced Guinevere in the hands of Jomarie “Escalera” Delos Santos, making things more difficult for ONIC Philippines’ jungler, Cyric “K1NGKONG” Perez.

“Napa-wow! Pero hindi ko in-expect na sobrang papahirapan ako ng Guinevere noong early game ni Escalera. Kaya medyo nahirapan din kami noong early game. Kasi medyo mahirap din mag-Alpha sa Guinevere,” K1NGKONG explained.

K1NGKONG didn’t only acknowledge Escalera; fellow jungler Michael “MP the King” Endino also received praise for his outstanding skills.

“Para sa akin, maganda rin yung pinakita ni MP ngayon eh. Kita naman sa level gap, kumbaga na-maximize niya yung ginawang space ni Escalera at ni Jeymz. Lalo na noong Game 3. Basta, ang galing ni MP ngayong series,” K1NGKONG commented.
