AFTER ADMITTING that he came very close to joining RSG Philippines last season, Ralph “Rapidoot” Adrales was understandably tense right before Onic's match against the MPL-PH's defending champs.
“Actually, kase noong lumabas yung article about sa sinabe ni Rap kahapon, tingin ko masyado siyang nag-iisip or kinakabahan lalo na noong nakita niya kanina yung RSG, lalo na si Light [Dylan Catipon]," said Onic coach Mark “Bluffzy” Reyes.
In yesterday's press conferences, Rapidoot had said that he had very nearly taken Light's spot in the team.
A defeat against Light and co. would have made him eat those words. "Namumula siya tapos parang nahihiya siya,” admitted Bluffzy. Nevertheless, the coach told him to get his act together. “Sinabi ko lang kase, huwag mo munang isipin yung mga bagay na outside the game. Focus lang tayo sa kung anong lalaruin natin.
"Tapos ayun, tingin ko naman ok sila e. Naging ok naman.”
For his part, Rapidoot tried his best to ease the potential tension between the two teams.
“In-explain ko naman sa kanila yun e. Kanina nagpa-picture muna ako e. Mga friends ko rin sila, kalaro ko nga sila sa ranked games, lahat sila," he said.
New-look Onic PH putting up a fight in Season 10
Onic PH’s ascent has caught many by surprise as a team that was viewed as inconsistent at the amateur scene was able to start off strong in Season 10.
In today's series, they even brushed aside the defending MPL and MSC champions, RSG Philippines in a dominant 2-0 sweep.
Supports Rapidoot and Frince “SUPER FRINCE” Ramirez took centerstage for the Hedgehogs. It was a result that Rapidoot honestly didn't expect.
“Sobrang sarap sa pakiramdam e kase hindi namin in-expect na ma-2-0 namin e. Ang in-expect lang namin 1-2 pero binigyan namin sila ng magandang laban. Solid yung naging resulta, 2-0," he said.
And as the game ended, everything was well as revealed by Coach Bluffzy.
“Tingin ko everything is fine naman doon sa dalawang team and sportsmanship naman talaga and tingin ko cool naman sila e kase noong nakita namin sila with the players, nag-hi five sila,” said the Onic PH mentor.
