WHEN brotherhood runs deep, time and distance mean nothing.

No matter how fate briefly pulls them apart, some bonds remain unbroken—much like the connection between Aurora Gaming PH’s Cedrix “Demonkite” Caranto and Dylan “Light” Catipon, not only reunited, but now fighting together on the world stage at the M7 World Championship.

M7 marks Demonkite’s second M-Series appearance, but this time it carries a deeper meaning. It’s no longer just a return to the world stage, but a shared climb to greater heights alongside a teammate who has become family.

“I’m just really happy! Of course, I missed Light—I missed playing with him and being teammates again. I’m just so happy that I get the chance to be his teammate once more,” Demonkite said in Filipino in his exclusive interview with SPIN.ph.

But how did Light and Demonkite get separated in the first place?

In early 2025, RSG officially disbanded, allowing Twisted Minds to claim the MPL slot, forcing Light, Demonkite, and their teammates to seek new opportunities—a sudden split that tested the bonds they had built through years of competition.

Demonkite eventually landed at Aurora, while Light ventured to MPL Indonesia to play for Bigetron Esports, where he experienced firsthand the pressure, adjustment, and isolation that imports often face.

Light later came back to MPL Philippines Season 16 and joined Aurora. None of this would have come together if his former RSG teammate, Demonkite, hadn’t vouched for him when Renejay “Renejay” Barcarse departed Aurora after Season 15.

Filling in for Renejay, Light instantly clicked with Aurora Gaming PH, seamlessly fitting into the team’s system.

“Actually, there isn’t much difference even back when Renejay was around because they’re almost the same—maybe Renejay is just more aggressive when it comes to shot-calling. But in terms of discipline and work habits, he and Light are pretty much the same,” Demonkite explained.

Demonkite and Light got separated for a while, but their familiarity with each other made communication effortless from the very start.

“I know him well as a player. If there’s anything I want to say to him, it’s easy for me to communicate it,” Light told Spin.ph in Filipino.

When Aurora Gaming PH clinched its spot at the M7 World Championship, Light couldn’t hold back his tears on the MPL stage, realizing that his first M-Series appearance had finally arrived despite once believing he might never reach the international stage again.

As a leader, Light ensures the team thrives by giving strategic direction, maintaining open communication, and even bringing a positive vibe.

“Dylan’s (Light) leadership style is more on the playful side—he’s like the team’s clown,” Demonkita described.

“Basically, he’s the one who lifts the mood when the team is feeling down or when the energy is just neutral, not overly excited or happy. He’s the one who brings excitement and joy to us.”

The journey to winning a world championship may be long and demanding, but it becomes meaningful when walking alongside teammates who eventually feel like family.

For Aurora Gaming PH, M7 is more than another international appearance—it is a chance to confront the doubts left behind by their early M6 exit.

“I’m actually excited. The pressure from the fans, and of course being here on the world stage, inspires me even more to play at my best,” Demonkite said. “I prefer being under pressure because it pushes me to perform better.”

At the heart of that mission is the Demonkite–Light tandem, once separated by circumstance, reunited by destiny to finish to take on a new path together.
