MTB looks on brighter side of Aurora's SIBOL qualifier absence

AURORA GAMING hit the ground running after a long two-week break, overpowering Smart Omega with a clean sweep in Week 7 of the MPL Philippines Season 15. Not showing any signs of slowing down, Aurora continues to charge forward as they vie for an upper bracket advantage.

Before anything else, let’s take a quick rewind at what happened to Aurora Gaming a week prior.

The absence of Aurora Gaming from the SIBOL MLBB men’s national team tryouts recently left many puzzled. Head coach Aniel “Master the Basics” Jiandani explained their side and cited communication mishaps as one of the reasons during a livestream.

"Sumali kami guys kaso na-disqualify kami. Hindi kami nakalaro. Nagkaproblema doon sa email ata. Hindi kami sure pero parang nagkaproblema doon sa email, napunta sa spam kaya hindi kami na-notify na may laban pala kami," coach Master the Basics said.

Setting their sights on the MSC

But for now, Aurora will be focusing on one competition at a time.

Master the Basics revealed that Aurora has decided to set their sights on MPL for the time being, which could pave the way to making another international stage appearance in the upcoming Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Mid-Season Cup (MSC) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Now that the dust has settled, Master the Basics looked at the events that unfolded through a different lens and even saw a silver lining.

“Siguro masyado kasi kaming nakatingin sa MPL kaya yung ganung bagay na-miss out. Kung ano man yung nangyari, para sa amin, blessing in disguise para sa amin. Pwede rin naman kasing hindi kami nanalo doon, then kung natalo, bumaba yung morale. Tumitingin na lang kami sa positive side,” Master the Basics said.
