AURORA Gaming secured an upper bracket berth after toppling Twisted Minds and TNC Pro Team, to extend its winning streak to 11 games in Week 7 of the MPL Philippines Season 16.
The Northern Lights continued to be head and shoulders above everyone in yet another dominant week, remaining unfazed by any challengers trying to dim their glow.
Let’s revisit how Aurora Gaming proved its dominance in an action-packed rematch against Twisted Minds and TNC Pro Team!
Don’t get it twisted
Aurora continued its dominance in the anticipated rematch against Twisted Minds, securing a 2-0 sweep.
Aurora totally dominated in Game 1, taking control of the map, gold lead, and major objectives.
The final push saw Dominic “Domengkite” Del Mundo’s Granger rain bullets with deadly precision, pulling off a maniac kill to hand Aurora the opener victory in just 12 minutes.
Domengkite delivered a masterclass on marksmanship with a perfect 11-0-0 KDA.
The second game of the series did not make much difference with Aurora quickly dispatching Twisted Minds and Domengkite stealing the spotlight once again.
The damage and pressure coming from Aurora was too much to handle for Twisted Minds, resulting in Game 2 ending in just 11 minutes.
Domengkite and his trusty Granger stole the spotlight once again with an impressive 3-0-5 KDA.
Putting Out The Phoenix’s Flame
While they dominated in their first game, the Northern Lights had it tough in their next game against TNC Pro Team – taking a hard-fought 2-1 victory to claim their 11th straight win and cap off Week 7 on a high.
Neither side backed down in the opener, trading heavy blows from the onset.
The turning point of the game occurred when Edward “Edward” Dapadap, playing as Arlott, executed a Flicker-Final-Slash combo during the Lord contention at the 18-minute mark.
That very highlight-worthy gameplay from Edward caught 4 members of TNC, giving Aurora the perfect window of opportunity to end the grueling Game 1.
Edward emerged as Aurora’s saving grace, finishing off with a 2-6-9 KDA.
TNC, however, wasn’t about to go down with a fight after tying the match in Game 2.
The base turret siege of that game saw Joshua “Ch4knu” Mangilog on Akai catching Cedrix “Demonkite” Caranto on Yi Sun Shin with a Flicker and Heavy Spin combo, which was enough to disrupt Aurora’s formation.
Lance “LanceCy” Cunanan, playing as Pharsa, made his presence felt with a 3-0-8 KDA.
But Dylan “Light” Catipon put out the fire of the Phoenix as his Badang led the charge from the front to push Aurora to a breezy Game 3 win as they improved to 11-1.
If the Northern Lights can win their Week 8 matches against AP.Bren and Smart Omega, then they’ll be tying the longest winning streak in MPL PH history at 13 – a run made by Fnatic ONIC Philippines (now ONIC PH) in Season 14.
