THERE HAVE BEEN screenshots circling around the league about alleged match fixing and gambling incidents in both the MDL and MPL Philippines, with teams and organizations undergoing their own investigations, after Coach Francis "Ducky" Glindro called out certain individuals.
While there are teams in the MDL who have already published their investigations, there are teams in the MPL who have been accused of being involved in these alleged incidents, specifically Onic Philippines.
In light of recent events, the MPL Philippines published an official statement about the alleged gambling incident involving Onic PH.
"MPL Philippines conducted a series of investigations regarding the gambling allegations involving ONIC Philippines and its players. The league found no evidence to prove that the team, the management, and its players are involved in any illegal activities, as opposed to the screenshots that circulated last 26 April 2024," as stated by the MPL PH.
Screenshots were manipulated
The MPL even dug deep and coordinated with Onic Philippines to look into the matter. It turns out that the screenshots were tampered.
"The screenshots were manipulated and there was no such message trail that shows an attempt to do gambling"
"There were no financial records to prove that the alleged gambling activity pushed through."
Back in April 26, Onic Philippines likewise published an official statement regarding the alleged accusations on them. Through the comments section, Duane "Kelra" Pillas' name was highlighted as the primary culprit.
Onic then clarified about his alleged involvement.
It was also hinted that the org is seeking for legal assistance regarding this incident.
