TWO MONTHS ago, M3 sensation Michael “MobaZane” Cosgun announced in his livestream session that he plans to travel to the Philippines, even hinting at a potential meetup with MLBB personality Setsuna “Akosi Dogie” Ignacio.
And true to his word, he did arrive in the Philippines. However, he first encountered a different figure in the Mobile Legends scene.
In his official Facebook page, former EVOS Legends head coach and French MLBB content creator, Gemik, posted a photo of himself and MobaZane. Gemik is currently in the Philippines, conducting tryouts for a potential esports project.
Gemik reveals his intentions of supporting MobaZane
With his experience as a European involved in the esports scene in Southeast Asia, Gemik mentioned on his recent livestream that he wants to help the BTK superstar succeed.
“If he needs help, I will help him out. I want to see him succeed,” he said. “You know, I’ve been in his shoes before, as a European who doesn’t have much chance in playing in the pro league in Mobile Legends because I’m not in a country that has a pro league because France isn’t participating in M1, M2, M3.”
He added: “Zane is kinda in a similar situation, although he went to M3, that’s the big difference. He had the opportunity to go to M3 because America has the chance to do so.”
He likewise mentioned some of the struggles that Zane might experience.
“I want to help him out because he is a bit younger than me and it’s hard if you’re a foreigner from another country especially from the West and you go to Asia,” he reflected. “It’s not that easy. People are welcoming, but the culture is different, the city is different.”
He added: “It’s not that easy to go around here, even I don't go out too much because some places aren’t safe in the street.”
But it’s not just the safety of traveling around the Philippines that concerns Gemik. In his YouTube vlog, he revealed that he had a negative experience handling a project.
“This guy is coming all by himself, the same way I came here three years ago and I got backstabbed by spending time on a project that in the end was completely stolen from me. So, no I don’t want this to happen to him even though we’re not in a similar situation,” he said.
And for Zane to get accustomed to his new environment, he even hinted at some of his plans.
“Coming here in the bootcamp where there are a lot of Filipinos, we can do some stuff and help him visit the area and suggest some stuff regarding the country,” said Gemik.
He added: “Then, he can look for his team, if he wants a pro team, if he wants to do content, he has a home here. He doesn’t have to pay anything; he has food provided everyday.”
With everything said, it could be inferred that Gemik is forming an MLBB team, with MobaZane as the cornerstone. The previous month saw the former MPL-ID coach interact with personalities from Omega Esports and Tier One Entertainment.
