Celebrated Indonesian Mobile Legends analyst and caster Frederick Handy "Mirko" Loho surprised Filipino MPL fans with a surprise appearance in the Grand Finals of MPL Philippines Season 11. But unknown to many, his appearance in the broadcast of the most popular esports league was actually unplanned.
In an interview with the MPL Press Corps, Mirko revealed his passport was expired before he flew to Manila.
“Last week, I was panicking! My passport was expired!” Mirko said.
But he received a call from his caster friends from the Philippines, who asked him if he wanted to come to the Philippines.
He thought his friends were joking, so he told them about the passport.
“I could get it renewed on time, but it’s a bit pricey! Is this confirmed?” Mirko asked, referring to the invitation to MPL Philippines.
The reply: “Yes. We’re buying you tickets, we’re locking it in. Come over.”
“And I didn’t ask what I was gonna do, I just said yes!” Mirko told members of the press. “Even if I would just be a person watching the games, the answer is yes.”
During the interview, he expressed his appreciation for Filipino fans. He also joked about how he has more followers and subscribers from the Philippines than from his own country Indonesia.
