THE PAST COUPLE of years saw a monumental moment in the PH esports collegiate scene as the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) has fully accepted gaming into the curriculum.
Now it's time for its counterpart to make waves as the Philippine National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) has officially announced esports into their festivities. The league made an official announcement through their Esports Kick-Off event in Marco Polo, Ortigas.
The NCAA's iteration of esports will be organized by the Collegiate Center for Esports (CCE), one of the promoters of esports in the collegiate level. All 10 colleges and universities under the NCAA will be included in the event.
Two games will be highlighted in NCAA's esports venture namely Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and the first person shooter game, VALORANT.
In preparation for esports, the NCAA has organized a Kick-off qualifiers to test the waters, which will happen on June 28. Then sometime around December, esports will officially make its entry for Season 101.
