OUR curiosity was roused when June Mar Fajardo was caught playing PUBG on his phone while waiting for Monday's pre-finals press conference of the PBA Philippine Cup to start at Sambokojin in Libis, Quezon City.
The Cebuano giant is an admitted gamer, with his Warcraft: Defense of the Ancients (DOTA) sessions with Magnolia forward Marc Pingris well-documented.
But it turned out there's a lot more in the Kraken's artillery than just DOTA.
Asked about his favorite hobby by SPIN Life, the San Miguel star willingly listed off the games he's currently hooked on that had him splitting time from his phone to his computer to different game consoles during his spare time.
"PUBG, Mobile Legends, Vainglory, Heroes Evolved sa phone. Call of Duty Blackops sa PlayStation 4. DOTA 2, Heroes Charge, Arena of Valor at marami pang iba sa PC. Farcry 5, Mortal Kombat, tapos Diablo 3, Legend of Zelda sa Nintendo Switch," he said.
It was no coincidence that all of the games Fajardo enjoys are MMORPGs and first/third-person shooter games. It's obviously his favorite.
Fajardo said these games are just his way of passing time. And the gentle insisted he has no particular favorite.
"Wala naman akong mas paborito. Parehas lang sila lahat na nilalaro ko. Pampalipas oras ko lang naman yung mga online games, pampaantok lalo na sa tanghali," the Cebuano big man said with a grin.
And when the horn sounds, Fajardo makes sure to go back to the role we all know him to be: the unstoppable force that has racked up the past five PBA MVP awards.
