Two familiar faces from Philippine esports have reunited to try and rekindle their old magic, albeit for a different team.
Southeast Asian Dota 2 squad Geek Fam recently announced its new lineup, which noticeably doesn't have a single Malaysian player, and more importantly, is now headlined by Filipinos and former TNC Pro Team teammates Carlo "Kuku" Palad and Marc Polo Luis "Raven" Fausto.
Kuku and Raven will join Korean Kim "DuBu" Doo-young (from Fnatic), American midlaner Eric "Ryoya" Dong (beastcoast), and Indonesian Kenny "Xepher" Deo in Geek Fam's new-look roster for the upcoming Dota Pro Circuit.
The two were part of TNC's fabled The International (TI) 2016 squad — along with Jimmy "DeMon" Ho, Sam "Sam H" Hidalgo, and Nico "eyyou" Barcelon — that shocked two-time Major winners and eventual back-to-back champions OG.
Kuku left TNC after being with the organization for more than three years and four TI competitions, including the last one where they finished 9-12th place. Him and eyyou were replaced by Australian Damien "kpii" Chok and Korean Taewon "March" Park in the Philippine-based team.
Meanwhile, Raven departed his hometown twice following TI6, and had short stints with Fnatic and Lotac.
Geek Fam, which is looking to improve its unranked world standing, is the latest SEA team to undergo a revamp and recruit a slew of imports post-TI.
