MPL PHILIPPINES Season 14 champion Fnatic ONIC Philippines stepped up during the nation's greatest time of need as Cyric “K1NGKONG” Perez and Kirk "Kirk" Gutierrez held a charity livestream event on Friday afternoon to raise donations for the victims of Typhoon Kristine.
The Bicol region took the hardest hit from Typhoon Kristine, with millions of Filipinos affected and thousands of homes submerged in massive floods.
The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported that 161,908 individuals are sheltered in evacuation centers, while 40,668 have taken refuge in other locations.
As of October 25, Typhoon Kristine took at least 11 lives, injured four, and five people missing.
In the aftermath of Typhoon Kristine, Kirk and K1NGKONG hosted a charity livestream in support of the Filipino community, pledging to donate all proceeds to Tanging Yaman Foundation Inc.
During the hour-long charity livestream, K1NGKONG took a moment to express his gratitude to everyone who donated regardless of the amount.
“Sa mga nag donate, sa mga nag send ng stars, thank you very much! Thank you dahil concerned kayo sa mga taong nasalanta ng bagyo. Mag ingat tayong lahat, and may God bless us all,” K1NGKONG said at the 1:00:13 timestamp.
