AS THE MLBB Mid-Season Cup (MSC) 2025 Group Stage unfolds with heart-pounding matches, it took an unexpected twist when Duane “Kelra” Pillas, Borris James “Brusko” Parro, and Kiel “Oheb” Soriano were hit by breathing problems.

Fresh off their victory against Area 77, Kelra appeared unusually off, and it turned out he had not been feeling well even before the match began.

“Earlier, I was not feeling good. It was hard to breathe because of my asthma. I was also feeling dizzy,” Kelra confirmed during a broadcast interview with Aeterna.

The unforgiving heat in Riyadh also took its toll on Brusko, who was seen wearing a respiratory mask in his latest Instagram channel update.

“Our players, Kelra and Brusko, are currently recovering from the effects of the intense heat. We’re grateful for the support from EWC x MSC in assisting with their recovery, and we wish them a speedy return as they prepare for the upcoming matches,” ONIC PH shared through Facebook community channel.

The time zone shift was already a challenge, but for Coach Tony “YnoT” Senedrin, it was the desert climate that demanded an even greater adjustment.

“Going into a different country, this isn't what we're used to. It isn't a tropical country. So we really need to make sure that we take our vitamins, have our medication, get complete rest at night, and make sure we're well fed,” Coach YnoT explained.

If ONIC PH ever finds itself in a tough spot where a player can't suit up, what is Coach YnoT's contingency plan?

“Hate in!” he told SPIN.ph.

Meanwhile, Oheb also found himself in a similar situation—struggling to breathe—and was later seen wearing an oxygen mask following their match against ONIC Indonesia last Friday.

Team Liquid PH Country Manager Mitch Liwanag revealed via Instagram channel that Oheb suffered an asthma attack and was already feeling unwell prior to the match.

“Sa mga nagwo-worry kay Kiel. Nagkaka-asthma attack siya, so inaasikaso na siya ng medic. Before pa magstart yung game he’s not feeling well na,” she explained.

("To those who are worried about Kiel, he’s having an asthma attack, so the medics are already attending to him. Even before the game started, he wasn’t feeling well.")

Oheb reassured his supporters that he was fine, thanks to immediate medical attention.

“Life update umookay naman na, nabigyan na ng oxygen,” Oheb wrote in his IG channel.

In health emergencies like these, Coach YnoT expressed his gratitude to the on-ground medical team for their swift response.

“We're quite thankful to EWC because everything is provided for. The response is very quick. We have medical staff at all locations. We actually feel very safe,” he said.

Fans are praying for their speedy recovery and safety of everyone at the MSC 2025.
