NO basketball and yes, even Dota and other esports games for June Mar Fajardo.
The PBA’s seven-time MVP missed out on the first of what would be a number of games he’s expected to skip in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup as he recovers from the fractured hand he suffered against Rain or Shine a week ago.
The fourth metacarpal fracture on his left hand doesn't require surgery, but he’ll have to rest the injury for the next four to six weeks for it to fully heal.
That means no heavy activity for the 6-foot-10 Fajardo, including playing his favorite video games.
But Fajardo disclosed he still plays Dota sparingly, but using just his right hand.
“Nag-do-Dota rin, ito,” showing his right hand. “
But no-no for the other games, saying ‘masyadong ma-stress.”
At the moment, he’s just resting at home and won’t have any major activity until the next few weeks.
“So far maganda naman (recovery). Hindi na siya maga. Pahinga lang muna,” said Fajardo. “Pero makakabalik din ako.”
Fajardo watched from the bench in frustration as San Miguel got ambushed by Northport, 115-101, at the Philsports Arena Friday night.
The Beermen saw their record fall to 3-2 as the loss halted their three-game winning streak.
The 34-year-old Fajardo said he can’t wait to get back on the court again and help San Miguel in its bid to regain the championship of the import laden-conference.
“Nakakainis nga, e. Pero hindi naman natin ma-control yan. Kahit gaano tayo kaingat. Nangyayari at nangyayari pa rin ang mga bagay na yan,” he said.
“Good thing, mabilis lang ito.”
