ONIC PHILIPPINES pulled off a reverse sweep against Smart Omega in Week 8 of the MPL Philippines Season 15, keeping their hopes of securing the upper bracket semis playoff spot.
Smart Omega went toe-to-toe with the world champions in a way only a few predicted, pouring their hearts out as if it’s their last.
Omega team captain Jomari “Jowm” Pingol opened up about what’s going through their minds in their final match for the season.
Jown had a strong feeling that some of his teammates might seek growth outside Smart Omega and hinted at possible roster adjustments in the future.

Uncertainties ahead
Barangay may have bowed out of playoff contention and the season, yet they certainly know how to put on a spectacular final show, giving ONIC Philippines a heart-pounding challenge.
“Maganda yung pinakita nila kasi wala na yung pressure kaya napakita nila talaga yung laro. Yun yung number one kalaban namin ngayong season, yung pressure. Since wala ng bearing yung laro, wala ng pressure, so maganda yung pinakita nila. Good job sa kanila,” coach Lemuel “Lembot” Lucban said.
Smart Omega has finally ended their MPL Philippines Season 15 campaign in seventh place.
