AFTER FOUR TOURNAMENTS, the most dominant region in MLBB history will finally host the world championship.
During the finale of the M4 World Championship, it was announced that the following M-series event will be held in the Philippines, and will take place in December.
This wasn't the first time the Philippines hosted an international MLBB major. MSC 2019 saw MLBB teams flock to Smart Araneta Coliseum, where Indonesia's Onic Esports were crowned as champions.
Then a few months later came the Southeast Asian games, with the Philippines breaking Indonesia's dominance after winning the gold medal in front of the home crowd.
From then, the Philippines kept on racking up international trophies, with Bren Esports taking the win in M2, and Blacklist International in M3.
Before M5, what else will happen in 2023?
While M5 will be the culmination of MLBB esports, teams will have a long grind before reaching the prestigious event.
From February until April, MPL teams will clash for a chance to secure an MSC 2023 slot, which will be held in Cambodia.
Then from August to October, MPL teams will once again battle for supremacy for a berth in M5.
In between these events, MLBB will be featured in the 2023 Southeast Asian Games and the WCG and Snapdragon Pro Series.
