A FEW FACEBOOK posts from Team Secret CEO John Yao may hint that Team Secret is considering its ownMobile Legends: Bang Bang team.
During the M4 World Championship finals, Yao posted: "Like this post if I should buy an MLBB team"
He even posted this as a comment to Team Secret's Philippine Country Manager, Yamyam Yui, who had said in another Facebook post: "Mobile Legends: Bang Bang M4 finals parehas Pinoy team! Tapos M5 Pinas daw ahh hmmm...It's a sign na ba?"
A few hours later, Yao asked Philippine MLBB free agents to message Yamyam.
Why Team Secret was hesitant with Mobile Legends
These posts from Team Secret management come as a massive surprise, as Yao had previously declared that the organization had no interest in an MLBB team.
In an interview with Yahoo! Esports, Yao mentioned three key reasons that would determine whether he would venture in that specific esports: an exciting and sustainable playerbase, a game that's both fun and engaging, and a strong reach.
It was on that last point that Mobile Legends did not make the cut, opined Yao, as he said that it only catered to the Southeast Asian community, particularly in the Philippines and Indonesia.
So far Team Secret invested in squads for Dota 2, VALORANT, PUBG Mobile, Rocket League, Rainbow Six Siege, and League of Legends.
