The world has been a witness to Kelra’s incredible talent, and everything finally fell into place for him to answer the national duty call—a dream he had held onto for years.
“Unang-una masaya. Masaya kasi after ilang years nasama ako sa national team. Iba pa rin kasi talaga yung SIBOL sa mga ibang international tournament para sa akin. Kaya pag nabilang ka doon tapos masisigaw yung last name mo, masarap sa feeling,” Kelra described.
Kelra will join a stacked roster featuring former IESF and SEA Games gold medalists Marco "Super Marco" Requitiano, Angelo Kyle "Pheww" Arcangel, David Charles "FlapTzy" Canon, Rowgien "Owgwen" Unigo, and Kyle "KyleTzy" Sayson.
He'll also be coached by a world class coach in Robert "Trebor" Sanchez, and MPL 6th man Vincent "Pando" Unigo.
But he isn't the only one following the dream as he'll be teaming up with Team Liquid's Sanford "Sanford" Vinuya.
KarlTzy the inspiration
So what sparked his ambition to represent the country with SIBOL?
The legacy of the Young GOAT, Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno, undeniably echoed through time, with Kelra drawing inspiration from the MLBB legend.
“Gusto ko lang talagang makasama dun kahit nung nag-uumpisa pa lang. Simula nung nakita ko yung kila Karl, yung nanalo sila dati. Yung Nepomuceno. Yung sinisigaw yung last name niya,” he explained.
Looking back, KarlTzy secured gold at the 30th Southeast Asian Games after defeating Indonesia in a nail-biting 3-2 grand finals series.
Kelra’s journey to joining the national team has been shaped by ups and downs, from his humble beginnings with Execration to solidifying his status as one of the world’s best gold laners.
Now, the moment has come for Kelra to rise to national duty and ignite the dreams of future professional players.
