BY THIS point, Megan Young’s gamer creds are pretty well established.
She’s been gaming since the days of Pokemon and Super Mario, and has confessed a love for role playing games. Late last year, she also joined ranks with the PC Master Race, becoming an endorser for Lenovo.
But to cope during the pandemic, there’s a special game close to her heart: Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
“Oooh, when it first came out, I was playing every day,” she revealed in an interview with Summit Media. “Kaka-start pa lang ng ECQ natin, so there really was no work and there was really nothing to do.”

According to the 30-year-old actress and streamer, she wanted to pass the time with something that was, in her own words, “a bit more relaxed.”
“Medyo tense, especially nung time na yun kasi it was very uncertain,” Young said.
Animal Crossing, a stress-free and idyllic game that’s on the Nintendo Switch, fit the bill perfectly.
“The beauty in Animal Crossing is you figure out what you want to do,” she said. “Like, it doesn’t dictate what you need to do with the game.”
The game’s cheery music and overall vibe really cheered her up during the darkest days of the pandemic. “Sunod-sunod yung bad news na naririnig natin,” she said. “This game has really helped me.”
