Even with their playoff dreams crushed, the former MDL champions still expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to compete among the world's best MLBB teams and icons.
“Feeling ko, it was a good run for us kahit hindi kami nakapasok ng playoffs, binigyan pa rin kami ng chance na makapag-MPL. Lahat kami dito, binigyan ng chance kaya thankful pa rin kami para dun sa chance,” coach Jamie “Pakbet” Abalos said.
The chance that MPL gave to the new generation of AP.Bren meant something deeper for the rising star Jonathan “JamesPangks” Mendoza—fulfilling his dreams.
“Thankful ako kasi na-experience ko dito (MPL) eh. Pangarap ko ito matagal na pero kung part ito ng kailangan ko muna experience, bawi na lang,” JamesPangks expressed, embracing defeat as a part of his journey in esports.
Even with deep gratitude, AP.Bren cannot escape the haunting feeling of regret for what could have been following their loss.
“Nakakahinayang po kasi hindi po namin nalabas talaga yung tunay po namin na laro. Tapos hindi rin po namin nalabas yung potential ni Pangks,” Jefferdson “kkdot” Mogol said.
“Feel ko ka talaga kaya namin eh. Hindi lang talaga namin malabas,” JamesPangks added.
“Sobrang nakakapanghinayang yung mga sacrifices ng mga players, coaches, lahat ng tao dun sa amin,” coach Pakbet said.
What's next for AP.Bren?
The future of AP.Bren remains uncertain, with no official discussions taking place yet.
“Wala pang initial plan para sa amin. Tingin ko until last matches namin, tingin ko dun palang kami makapagsabi kung ano yung mga next step namin. Ngayon nagfo-focus muna kami na tapusin yung MPL. Then tingnan natin kung ano yung mga changes na magagawa namin,” coach Pakbet revealed.
“Hindi pwedeng ganito lang yung magiging performance namin every time. Kailangan rin namin mag-excel bawat isa. Coaching staff, management, and then mga players,” he added.
The new-generation Hive dealt with high expectations coming into Season 15, tasked with upholding the storied legacy left by their legendary predecessors.
But one thing is certain: AP.Bren is committed to making a strong comeback next season.
