AT LAST, after years of trying everything to beat Liquid ECHO in a do-or-die major tournament held by MOONTON, Falcons AP.Bren has finally slain their rivals.
And the same outcome occurred in Season 13's finale, as ECHO swept their foes 4-0.
But in the biggest stage of them all, it was Bren who overcame the hurdle, sending Liquid ECHO packing. Now Bren is on the verge of winning MSC 2024.
After winning, Kyle "KyleTzy" Sayson had the final say to the fans in the venue who tried to destabalize them.
"Sa mga nagsasabi sa venue na 4-0, nakabawi na kami ngayon," said the jungler.
Bren was able to exact their revenge as they dissected the recent patch updates to perfection and capitalized on KyleTzy's overwhelming amount of assassin junglers. However there was one major factor that ultimately turned the tides.
Why Bren lost to ECHO in S13 finale?
It was revealed during the press conference that David Charles "FlapTzy" Canon was housing three gallstones during the grand finals in Season 13.
"Yung pinagkaiba noong grand finals (Season 13), may gallstones ako noon, ngayon wala na. Kaya nakakalaro ako ng maayos. Tatlo yun," said the Bren EXP laner.
For starters, gallstones are rock-like deposits of bile that can accumulate in one's gallbladder. This is caused when there's too much cholesterol released by a liver.
When gallstones create a blockage, an individual could experience severe abdominal, shoulder, and back pain, which could last for hours.
Lucky for Flap, Bren has a physician who could attend to his needs.
"I did everything in my power to have FlapTzy's gallstones removed. I asked my girlfriend to have it removed ahead of MSC. Luckily she was able to perform the surgery on time for recovery. She did it for five hours with a colleague, when it was supposed to take an hour," explained Coach Francis "Ducky" Glindro.
Sweet revenge
Before the MSC began, Flap was asked as to who he wishes to face in the tournament.
Three names began to rang from Selangor Red Giants' Mark Genzon "Kramm" Rusiana and Fnatic Onic's Lutpi "Lutpiii" Ardianto.
But there was one player that stuck to his head. Sanford "Sanford" Vinuya.
"Sa huli si Sanford kasi babawian ko siya e," highlighted Flap.
During the Season 13 finale, Sanford completely edged out his counterpart to the point where his rival heavily praised him.
"Ang galing niya sa laning noon kasi hurado ako noong time na iyon e."
After the loss FlapTzy felt humiliated, to the point where even his teammates would throw shade at him.
"Sobrang laking sampal sa mukha ko yung pagkatalo namin kasi sobrang one-sided, 0-4, kaya gigil na gigil akong bumawi. Tapos asar talo pa ako sa kakampi ko," he reflected.
"Panis daw ako kay Sanford' kaya doon ako namo-motivate na kailangan kong galingan."
In the end, FlapTzy ended up redeeming himself by slowing down Sanford in one of the biggest esports spectacles. With him fully healed, Bren's gameplan has reached its full fruition.
"Flap is healed and [he plays like] a brand new man. That's the key to our victory," reiterated Rowgien "Owgwen" Unigo.
