    Filipinos to compete in first-ever Mobile Legends World Cup

    Sunsparks and Onic Philippines will represent the country

    Two Filipino teams are set to take the stage in the biggest Mobile Legends tournament, the M1 World Cup, which will be held from November 11 to 17 at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

    Sunsparks and Onic Philippines will represent the country against some of the best Mobile Legends teams around the world for a $250,000 prize pool (more than P12 million).

    Sunsparks — consisting of Kiel VJ “KielVJ” Cruzem, Christian “Rafflesia” Fajura, Cedrie “Fuzeken” Pasusani, Renz “Errol Renzio” Cadua, Jaypee “Jaypee” Dela Cruz, and Francisco “Eskii Flex” Antillon — won the Mobile Legends Pro League-Philippines (MPL) Season 4 to qualify for the world stage.

    Onic PH, which is comprised of John “Zico” Dizon, Johnmar “Ohmyv33nus” Villaluna, Gerald “Diar” Trinchera, Christian “IY4KNU” Manaog, and Allen “Greed_” Baloy, qualified as the runner-up in the MPL-PH S4.

    Sunsparks will face Turkey team Evil Esports, Brazil’s Geo Esports, and Malaysia’s Todak in Group C. Onic Philippine will battle Japan’s 10second Gaming, Russia’s Deus Vult, and Indonesia’s Evos Legends in Group D. The Pinoys will start action on Wednesday; matches can be viewed via live stream on Mobile Legend’s YouTube Gaming page.

    Both teams have a difficult road ahead, as only the best two squads from each group will advance to the main stage at the Axiata Arena.

    The top seeds from each group will kick off the main event in the upper bracket, while the second seeds will be forced to fight for their tournament lives in the lower bracket.
