FORMER RRQ KAITO star Edferdz "Ferdz" Fernandez made a stellar debut with Team Falcons PH, immediately stealing the show on Day 1 of the MPL Philippines Season 16.
His standout moment came in Game 2, where he earned MVP honors with a 4-1-5 KDA performance on Cici.
But for a rookie, the true test was handling the pressure of competing alongside decorated veterans and MLBB world champions.
“Sa first game talaga ni Ferdz, kinabahan talaga siya,” roamer Rowgien “Owgwen” Unigo shared during the post-match media interview.
Ferdz, however, revealed in an exclusive interview with SPIN.ph that his composure under pressure came from the trust and wisdom of his teammates.
“Nakinig lang po ako sa mga teammates ko po at sa coach po na ok lang kabahan pero wag wag magpapaapekto,” he said.
Ferdz proved he was more than just a rookie—he looked like a piece that had long belonged in Team Falcons PH.
An Arcangel's guidance
Guiding him to reach his full potential was none other than Angelo “Pheww” Arcangel, a legend who continues to redefine greatness after years of success.
“Ang pumukpok po talaga sa akin ay si Kapitan Pheww po talaga. Like, pag may error po ako or what na napapansin niya, sinasabi niya po sa akin,” Ferdz explained, grateful for Pheww’s mentorship.
That guidance from veterans became Ferdz’s anchor in navigating the nerves of his MPL debut.
Now in the MPL, Ferdz refuses to take his opportunity lightly. For him, this is not just about playing—it’s about fulfilling a dream he has worked and waited years to achieve.
“Hindi naman po ako pumasok sa MDL or ML para lang maglaro-laro po. Gusto ko rin po talaga makaakyat sa mga big stage like MPL. And naghintay din po ako nang matagal para po makapasok dito sa MPL PH,” he expressed.
With a promising performance in Week 1, fans can expect to see more of Ferdz in action. Whether he continues to share the spotlight with FlapTzy or steps up as the team’s primary EXP laner, one thing is certain: Ferdz has finally arrived—and he’s ready to soar.
