THE “UNKILLABLE DEMON KING” has his throne immortalized.
As part of the induction, Riot will be releasing a special in-game event commemorating the illustrious career of Faker. As part of the in-game event, Riot will also be releasing some cosmetics and skins celebrating Faker, no further details have been announced.
Aside from an in-game event, Faker will also receive an art piece from Mercedes Benz which “fuses reality and League and Legends” highlighting Faker’s many achievements. Additionally, Mercedes will also give Faker a custom Mercedes-AMG SL 63 for his induction.
To celebrate his career Riot is also releasing a documentary featuring Faker’s old teammates, rivals, and even his family.
The League of Legends GOAT
Faker is often credited as the greatest League of Legends player to have ever touched the game. He has won 10 domestic titles, two Mid-Season Invitational trophies, and four World Championships.
He started his career when he was just 16 years old when he debuted with SKT T1 2 (later SKT T1 K) in 2013. He immediately cemented his spot when he led his team to its first domestic title in the summer of 2013 against KT Bullets. It was also in this series that we witnessed Faker’s greatest outplay against KT’s Ryu known today as the “Faker what was that?!” moment.
In 2013, Faker would lead the SKT T1 K to win Korea’s first world championship when they beat Royal Club (now RNG) 3-0 in the 2013 World Championship.
In 2015, Faker would lift the Summoner’s Cup once again, beating ROX Tigers 3-1. He would become the first player to lift the Summoner Cup back to back when he once again led T1 to the 2016 World Championship where they held off Samsung Galaxy 3-2.
Samsung Galaxy would find their revenge the following year when they swept T1 3-0 in the 2017 Worlds Finals. This would be the start of what would have been a downfall and heartbreak for T1 as they struggled to win another world title.
It was only last year (2023) that they finally broke their heartbreak streak as Faker finally lifted the Summoner’s Cup for the fourth time when they dominated Weibo Gaming 3-0 in the 2023 World Finals.
Even with a career befitting of an esports legend, Faker still has not hung his mouse and keyboard, continuing to grind on the Rift. To date, he has been the longest-playing member of T1 and one of the longest-playing players in the Korean pro scene.

Immortalizing Legends
The Hall of Legends was announced earlier this year and is Riot Game’s homage to the players who stand atop League of Legends and who have impacted and changed the game as we know it.
Players are chosen by an independent panel composed of industry veterans and experts from every LoL esports region. According to Riot, inductees are selected based on criteria that include International berths, international and regional titles, role-specific stats, and overall contributions to the sport.
The Hall of Legends will welcome one inductee per year and will celebrate his contributions and achievements to League of Legends.
