LIKE HIS IDOLS in professional wrestling, Manjean Faldas may have committed a heel turn that has shocked the MPL Philippines community.
The so-called voice of the local MPL scene, a Hall of Legends Inductee, and a multi-awarded Caster of the Season winner, is no longer a part of the casting desk for Season 14.
It may seem like his heel turn is as painful as that of Hulk Hogan joining the NWO, or Shawn Michaels delivering the 'Sweet Chin Music' on Marty Jannetty, or Seth Rollins slamming a steel chair to the likes of Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose, but Manjean has his reasons as to why he decided to leave the MPL desk.
Bakit wala si Manjean?
"As I grow, as I age, my priorities change. With those priorities, it became a factor for me and I decided to step out na sa safety net, sa aking comfort zone," he revealed in an exclusive with SPIN.ph.
There have been rumors swirling around that Manjean might take his talents to another game especially with Honor of Kings Philippines, showcasing a silhouette which seem to hint on his arrival.
Is this a sign that Manjean will say his goodbyes to MLBB?
"Hindi ako aalis ng MLBB, wala lang ako sa MPL broadcast. Magkaiba yun," he reiterated.
He further elaborated: "While I do other stuff, like promote other esports titles, or do other projects or events na non-gaming, I will still play and I will still stream kasi fan pa rin naman ako ng community. So wala lang ako sa MPL PH broadcast."
Given his statements, is he open for a comeback? He reflected saying: "I think it will really take a while for me to shoutcast or to become a commentator for major leagues na canon sa MOONTON tournaments."
However one thing is certain, Manjean will remain loyal to his casting roots
"At hindi ako aalis sa shoutcasting, magsha-shoutcast pa rin ako kasi wala kang final cast, walang ganun, hindi mo masasabi yun kung kailan. You'll never know talaga."
Manjean's absence will surely be felt by the diehard MLBB fanbase. From his creative inventions of monickers, to the random puns and references during the broadcast, the energetic sparkplug that Manjean offers will surely be missed.
It was through the MPL where Manjean became legendary and he will forever cherish all the memories he experienced.
"I’m deeply thankful for the legendary journey I had in MPL Philippines. The knowledge, friends, stories, and experiences I’ve gained will always hold a special place in my heart. As always, isa pong karangalan," he said on his official Facebook page.
Will he make a shocking return similar to Roman Reigns in SummerSlam? Only time will tell.
