FRESH OFF THE caster’s desk, veteran shoutcaster and analyst Caisam “Wolf” Nopeuto embarked on a new journey as he officially made his coaching debut with the TNC Pro Team in the MPL Philippines Season 14.
The TNC Pro Team's head coach, Caisam "Wolf" Nopueto, faced a tough debut as Smart Omega handed them their first loss of the season via a 2-0 sweep at the Green Sun Hotel in Makati City on Friday.
Despite a rough start, Wolf could not help but express his joy as he witnessed his dreams come true.
“It’s everything that I dreamed of. ‘Yung pagiging coach na masaya sobra ‘yung pakiramdam. Hindi naman ako nakaramdam ng kaba or anything. More like very excited all the time and talagang na e-enjoy every moment,” Wolf said, savoring every moment that he used to dream about.
A work in progress
As the mastermind behind orchestrating the rise of TNC from the ashes, Wolf recognized the squad’s points for improvement after falling at the hands of the Smart Omega at the MPL-PH Season 14 opener.
“I think ‘yung pag shrug off ng jitters. Hindi naman sa kabado pero syempre as a team, this is our first time, kumbaga ‘yung chemistry kailangan namin i-develop,” Wolf pointed out.
Wolf runs a tight ship, and his leadership has centered on communication and empowerment, providing TNC with a much-needed morale boost.
“There’s a reason why sila pinili sa TNC. May tiwala [rin] sa strength nila as players. Don’t think about the previous season’s results. They are really good [players],” Wolf revealed, expressing words of affirmation to TNC players.
With all eyes on him, Wolf also opened up about how he coped with high expectations in his much-anticipated coaching debut.
“I know ‘yung expectations mataas din, so two months ago pa lang tinanggal ko na ‘yung pressure na ‘yun. Lagi ko sinasabi na focus ako sa team. I don’t care about anything else; basta mapalalakas ko ‘yung team namin, ok na ako doon,” coach Wolf said.
The TNC Pro Team has been at the bottom for the last four seasons, ending each season in eighth place, but coach Wolf is determined to rewrite the fate of TNC in Season 14.
