Aurora Esports' venture into the MPL Philippines has yielded a promising lineup featuring the very best from Blacklist International and their rivals.
The Royal Duo of Johnmar "OhMyV33nus" Villaluna and Danerie James "Wise" Del Rosario will lend their services to the team from behind the scenes, while the main core for their MPL roster will feature the following players.
Former Blacklist members Renejay "Renejay" Barcarse, Kenneth "Yue" Tadeo, and Edward "Edward" Jay Dapadap will be heavily involved in this year's campaign. Together they managed to bring Blacklist to an M5 World Championship birth, where they finished 3rd overall.
They'll be paired with former RSG PH jungler Jonard Cedrix "Demonkite" Caranto, former TNC member Ben Seloe "Benthings" Maglaque, and former Minana EVOS gold laner Jan "Domeng" Delmundo. Demonkite was a part of RSG PH's roster that won MPL PH Season 9 and MSC 2022. Meanwhile, Domeng was one of the key contributors to Minana's playoff run in Season 13.
Then there's Benthings who has been desperate for a playoff contention which he last saw back in Season 9. He can also serve as a swiss-army knife given his experience has a head coach for TNC last season.
Featuring a mix bag of veterans and up-and-coming players, this new MPL team is looking very promising especially with the coaching staff behind them.
Dexter "Dex Star" Alaba and Aniel "Master the Basics" Jiandani will offer their strategic prowess. Both have served Blacklist International during their M3 glory days.
So much hype has now surrounded this team which could rattle the entire MPL universe and questions remain if this team has the chemistry to pull off a championship run.
But the hype wasn't just centered on their new roster. In the recent Aurora event held in PARQAL Aseana City in Paranaque, the team offered their support to those affected by Typhoon Carina, as they encouraged the community to bring supplies like toiletries, First-Aid Kits, clothes, vitamins, etc.
