TWO months since the release ofThe Last of Us Part II, the PlayStation exclusive remains divisive.

Its award-winning direct predecessor, The Last of Us, came out seven years ago, and left some very large shoes to fill for TLOU2. Expectations were through the roof. Some say it lived up to them. Others say it flopped.

Gamer and comedian Michael V gives his own take with a review posted on his YouTube channel.

Make that a double take, as he cleverly uses a fun concept to duel dissenting opinions and give his non-spoiler-y two cents about the game in his channel #BitoyStory.

In his review, the longtime Bubble Gang host wasn’t alone. he was joined by his alter ego, Toybits, in an attempt to make both blunt and balanced criticisms of the game.

    Here’s what went down:

Story-wise, Bitoy commended the placement of sequence of events, and how the characters were established in the beginning of the game.

“Kung pag-uusapan ang story-telling, malinis ang pagkakalatag ng kwento,” he said.

Toybits, however, claimed that it was too cinematic, which makes it boring for action junkies.

“Ginaya yung style ni Quentin Tarantino, patalon-talon ‘yung storya, maraming flashback, forward, present, gumugulo ‘yung objective,” his ‘nega’ alter ego claimed. “Tsaka it has a good meaning pero not really [suitable] for conservatives.”

Both of Bitoy's personalities agreed that the video game had sequel potential.

For the haters, that means that there could be a chance for developer Naughty Dog to redeem themselves.

Moving on from the storyline, the two discussed the gameplay. They both agreed that there was tremendous improvement, highlighting how the game allows you more control over your character, especially in combat.

“May mga new moves. Nakakdapa, nakaka-ilag din pag nakikipagaway. ‘Pag nawawala ‘yung ilaw, kakalugin ‘yung controller,” he said. “Para ‘kong nasa The Walking Dead.”

Both Bitoy and Toybits were even more in agreement when it came to The Last of Us Part II's graphics and sounds. They even mentioned that it had better visuals than its competitions.

“Best graphics, better than Ghost of Tsushima. [Commendable] attention to details,” the comedian added.

“More immersive sound, good for home theatre and 3d earphones. May sounds in all directions. Kumabaga, maririnig mo if may tao sa likod mo,” he added.

In the end, Bitoy and Toybits gave it a rating of 7.5/10, comparing it to Part I.

“This seems to be audience-specific, like an indie film. But for open-minded millennials, magugustuhan ‘to,” they ended.

Since its release last June 19, The Last of Us Part II has sold more than four million copies. It is Sony's third highest-selling video game to date, trailing only behind Marvel's Spider-Man and the 2018 version of God of War.
