Gaming convention CONQuest 2022 to be held in Manila

ONE OF the most renowned gaming and pop culture conventions in the Philippines hosted by AcadArena will finally push through in 2022 as CONQuest Festival announced that they’ll be kicking off their event on July 2022.

The announcements were teased on their official Facebook page.

CONQuest last appeared in 2019, and was supposed to be held the following year. But the, of course, COVID-19 happened.

While previous CONQuests were held in Iloilo, this year’s iteration will be making its way to Metro Manila. While many are looking forward to its much-appreciated return, some have expressed concerns about its move away from the Visayas.

"[W]e barely have cons already in Iloilo so it's just sad to see the location change," said one comment on the organization's Facebook announcement.

    A more star studded cast

    Their announcement wasn’t the only sneak peek that they revealed, as their Facebook page hinted at potential guests.

    One of the most popular gaming couples in 100 Thieves' Kyedae “Kyedae” Shymko and Valorant pro player Tyson “TenZ” Ngo might attend this year’s festival, as teased by a cryptic Facebook post.

    Kyedae even mentioned in one of her Twitch streams that she will be going to the Philippines.

    Bringing in the iconic VALORANT couple could be a huge leap for the event as the previous CONQuests featured local icons like Gian “Gloco” Concepcion and Rikki “Riku” Quiapon. In 2020, it was rumored that OfflineTV’s Lily “Lilypichu” Ki would be part of the event.

    CONQuest officially announced on their Facebook page that Kyedae will attend the festivities on July 23-24. She even expressed her excitement via Twitter.

    Besides the announcement of her attendance, CONQuest will also host the grand finale of AcadArena's Alliance Games, where campus esports athletes around the country would clash in VALORANT, Call of Duty: Mobile, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, League of Legends, and Wild Rift.
