SELANGOR RED GIANTS dispatched Team Spirit 3-0 in the M6 World Championship lower bracket semifinals, advancing to face Team Liquid ID in the lower bracket finals. The Red Giants’ pursuit of the Golden Road continues, but what new chapter awaits the Dragons of the North?
Team Spirit went for a back-to-back fourth-place finish, making a statement that the Eastern Europe and Central Asia (EECA) region cannot be underestimated and is also a force to be reckoned with.
As the Red Giants stomped the Dragons of the North, head coach Vrendon "Vren" Pesebre took into account the factors that spelled the major difference.

Learning experience
“We played so [badly] every game. I think second game, lumamang na kami ng early game pero nawala agad. I think siguro pangit lang ang gising namin ngayon. Maybe the timezone is affecting everyone,” Coach Vren said.
Keeping their head held high, head coach Vrendon "Vren" Pesebre accepted the defeat with grace and took it as a learning opportunity to carry on.
“Definitely, marami pa kaming alamin sa isa’t isa. Big learning experience ito para sa aming lahat. I think time will tell lang. We’ll come back stronger sa next M-Series,” Vren expressed.
Coach Vren was once part of AP.Bren's hive squad during the M5 World Championship before joining Team Spirit’s ambitious campaign in the M6 World Championship, adjusting to an entirely new region in less than a year.
Even though the future is uncertain, he remains dedicated to the grind, aiming for a comeback in the M7 World Championship in 2026.

Bouncing back
Meanwhile, Mathaios "Kid Bomba" Chatzilakos delved into the technical details of the match, as Team Spirit succumbed to SRG’s constant pressure that allowed their lead to slip away from their grasp.
“I think it all comes down to how you play as a team and it doesn’t really matter who they target in my opinion since you can always do something about it. For me, in general, it was just we let down. We gave them several leads and when we had control of the game, we let it go too quick,” Kid Bomba explained.
Even in the wake of a tough loss, Kid Bomba’s resilience remained undeterred, with a promise to learn and grow from the mistakes.
“Too much to say. A lot went wrong. We’ll be fixing the mistakes in the future tournaments,” Kid Bomba said.
