TEAM LIQUID's gold laner Clarisse “CLA” Owari addresses online bullying targeting her physical appearance as she gears up for the 2025 MLBB Women’s Invitational at the Esports World Cup in Riyadh.
CLA has proven that she’s one of the top-tier gold laners in Athena League Season 1, but instead of getting the recognition she rightfully deserves, she became a target of body and face shaming.

CLA has addressed the hate she receives online, and her determination to make her dreams come true is stronger than the negativity around her.
“Nakikita ko po yung mga comments nila. But, sine-set aside ko na lang po para sa pangarap kong makapagpatuloy sa MWI. Focus muna ako sa team ko and sa playstyle ko,” CLA said.
When the negativity became overwhelming, CLA admitted that it crushed her at some point, but she did not allow it to break her spirit.
“Mayroon naman po akong strong personality na kayang i-set aside lahat tapos focus lang po sa team ko,” she expressed.
Social media can be unforgiving and a space of negativity, but CLA chooses to protect her peace through social media detox and doing other things she loves.
“Minsan po hindi ako nagso-soc med masyado tapos gumagawa ako ng ibang hobbies ko para hindi ko po mapansin sila,’” she explained.
CLA is not alone in dealing with online bullying, with her teammates creating a safe space for each other.
“Sensitive naman po sila. Hindi sila nagbabanggit ng kung ano na hindi ako komportable ganun,” CLA said.
