CHANCE the Rapper was on Saturday Night Live last weekend, and brought a few chuckles when he resurrected his sketch character "Lazlo Holmes", a "Knicks reporter" who covers sports that are way out of his wheelhouse.
This time, the clueless Lazlo was on hand to cover the League of Legends championships. Or as he calls it, "a computer game contest."
"Lazlo Holmes here, live at the League of Legos," he begins. As usual, Chance sells Lazlo's shtick with his bewildered expressions, as when he analyzes a Nexus defense play: "I think if you know what's happening in this clip, you need to get out of the house more."
At one point early in the sketch, Chance the Rapper breaks character, laughing as he delivers the sketch's line of the night: "I guess esports is what white and Asian kids have been doing while black kids were inventing hip hop."
