The Philippine esports community was left in shock and grief after learning of the passing of Chad Devs, former team manager of Nexplay EVOS, and Navi, a former pro player who became an MDL coach.
MPL Philippines has released a statement on the deaths of the two.
"The MLBB community deeply mourns the passing of two MLBB esports personalities Charles Dave "Chad" Dela Pena and Ivan Emmanuel "Coach Navi" Gacho.
"Ivan served as RSG Ignite's coach and was one of the first players to be part of MPL Philippines. Chad, formerly Nexplay EVOS boot camp manager, is one of the well-known figures in the MPL scene who acted as an older brother to players."
"Most importantly, both led remarkable lives and inspired players to reach their dreams. Please join us in offering our community’s thoughts and deepest sympathies to Chad and Navi's families and friends that they left behind. May you rest in peace, Chad and Navi."
Chad died on April 23, 2023. Navi died on April 24, 2023.
