THERE'S A lot at stake for Falcons AP.Bren for the coming MSC 2024 campaign.
This could be the chance for the team to redeem themselves after losing to Team Liquid ECHO in the MPL PH S13 finale, but this could also be the moment when the team will finally secure its first MSC trophy.
In fact, that's exactly in the mind of EXP laner David Charles "FlapTzy" Canon.
"Sa akin, parang sobrang sarap sa feeling na mag-champion, kasi yun na lang din yung
kulang ko. MSC na lang," he revealed in an interview with the media.
However the levels of motivation go deep. During Season 13, the team explained that the money they've earned in tournaments would serve as a driving force, but there is a profound reason for their desire to earn more.
Little Owgwen's arrival would further inspire the team.
"Makukompleto ko na yung major tournaments na nag-champion ako tapos sobrang laki ng pera, sobrang makakatulong sa team ko, pati sa sarili ko. Lalo na kay Rowgien kasi lumabas na yung anak niya, si Grocky Onigo," explained FlapTzy.
He emphasized: "Kaya gusto namin manalo ng MSC para sa aming lahat kasi kailangan din namin ng pera."
All for one and one for all
As the press conference went on, Coach Francis "Ducky" Glindro dug deep into the team's dedication to uplift each other. It turned out that this has always been the primary ethos of the team, even before the MSC.
"Actually every tournament namin, meron kaming pinag-aalayan. For example noong M5, sabi namin, 'Kailangan nating manalo para may pabulaklak sa kasal ni Pheww."
"Tapos noong Games of the Future, parang may pangsasakyan si Kyle. Kailangan namin manalo. Tapos, yung nga ngayon, para sa baby ni Owgwen."
This explains why Bren remains motivated despite the nonstop amount of tournaments they participated. No matter how many championship trophies they've accomplished, the team remains driven to support each other.
"Those simple goals na binanggit ko kanina, while it may sound simple, it actually gives you a sense of direction at the back of your head," reflected Ducky.
He added: "Lalo na doon sa mga bata na to na, kaunting sabi mo, and if they truly believe the direction that you tell them to go to, madali silang paniwalaan na, this is the goal that we're trying to achieve."
In the end, Coach Ducky saw the potential of this team.
"Ultimately, hindi nila nari-realize na they're doing themselves a favor," he said.
