TWISTED MINDS fell in the hands of Smart Omega, remaining winless in the third week of the MPL Philippines Season 15 at the Green Sun Hotel in Makati City. With the clock ticking and the regular season reaching its halfway point fast, how is Twisted Minds navigating and pushing through the rough patches?
Twisted Minds nearly pulled off a reverse sweep with an unexpected Alice and Angela combination, but Smart Omega outmaneuvered them in the final stretch to ultimately seal the deal.
Head coach Kristoffer “BON CHAN” Ricaplaza expressed his dismay after letting their first potential match win slip out of their grasp against Omega.
“Ayun, kagaya nung nangyari ngayong week, triny namin mag-iba ng path, ng landas. Sayang kanina, yun na sana. Baka sakaling sa game three, baka yun na yung unang panalo namin, kaso ‘di natin masabi dahil sa disaster nga nangyari nung game two,” BON CHAN said.
A test of resilience
The weight of pressure tested Twisted Minds’ discipline, where every little in-game choice played a crucial role in the outcome.
“Supposedly, sobrang abot kamay na nila yung papunta sa reverse sweep. Siguro kung meron lang silang kahit konting extra na discipline o mas magandang decision-making sa mga clutch moment na yun, mas maganda sana yung kinalabasan,” BON CHAN said.
Twisted Minds may have been the underdogs for now, but their resilient spirit proves they are far from hitting the panic button.
“So far, wala pa tayo sa halfway, and tomorrow meron pa kaming next match. Siguro konting linis na lang dun sa ginagawa naming execution. So far, hindi pa naman siguro kailangan. As long as kalmado yung lahat, as long as hindi pa sobrang baba nung morale, marami pang chances.” BON CHAN said, showing optimism despite a rough start for Twisted Minds.
Twisted Minds is gearing up to battle AP.Bren next, with both squads hungry for their first win of the season.
