WHEN KATHRYN BERNARDO released her statement which confirmed the split with Daniel Padilla, fans were left stunned and heartbroken.
For 11 years, the pair was in love with each other and it seemed they were destined to be together. Fans even got inspired upon seeing them together in public.
Bernardo even said: "These are 11 years that brought me joy, adventure, and the feeling of being home. Years that taught me the real meaning of unconditional love and friendship."
And she ended her statement saying: "Deej, you gave me 11 beautiful years and the kind of love that I will forever cherish. I will always be grateful for you."
'Why naman ganon Dj'
While the news of their split was indeed a painful moment for diehard KathNiel fans, Dota 2 player Djardel "Dj" Mampusti, became a meme from Bernardo's statement. His IGN is also his nickname, as well as Padilla's.
His current team, Bleed Esports, tagged the Filipino Dota 2 player saying: "Why naman ganon "Dj"
Eventually, Dj shared Bernardo's post with the caption: "Wala po akong alam dito, nagdo-Dota lang ako."
Fans then commented on his recent Facebook profile picture, referencing the breakup.
Besides the fans, other Dota 2 players have gotten themselves involved as Blacklist Rivalry's Tims Randrup even posted a set of photos captioned: "Mga natitirang loyal sa mundong ibabaw."
The photos consisted of Dota 2 players in the Philippines and their respective partners.
