ONLY FOUR teams remain to determine who will make up Sibol's final roster for the men's division of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang team for the upcoming 2023 Southeast Asian Games.
Defending world champions ECHO PH will proceed to the next round, while Blacklist International were eliminated by Onic Philippines.
Joining them will be Bren Esports and GameLab's MLBB team. These four squads will clash tomorrow to determine who will end up in Sibol's combine.
The next matchup will feature the Orcas going up against Bren, while the Filipino Hedgehogs will clash against GameLab. The winners of these matches will face each other in the grand finale.
Bren Esports gives MINANA a baptism by fire
With MINANA Esports making their debut for Season 11, Bren Esports gave the up-and-coming team a painful lesson about the MPL skill level.
It was the Beehive who dictated both games as Bren controlled the pace of the match. With Bren limiting MINANA gold laner, Isonn, the MPL vets were able to slow down their foes.
It likewise didn't help that Kyle "KyleTzy" Sayson and Rowgien "Owgen" Unigo were pinpoint with their engagements, leading to Bren's comfortable 2-0 sweep.
ECHO survives against Big Four Global
The defending world champions on the other hand, had to grind their way to proceed to the next round.
Game 1 saw ECHO stall their foes in order to pave the way for Frederic Benedict "Bennyqt" Gonzales to take over with his signature Karrie in the latter stages of the match.
Big Four banned Bennyqt's signature hero in Game 2 and capitalized on some awkward teamfights en route to their Game 2 win.
In the do-or-die Game 3 battle, both teams were evenly matched, but it was ECHO's sustainability and timed plays that ultimately gave them the win.
With their Valentina pick from Alston "Sanji" Pabico and ECHO was able to copy Big Four's Faramis play, allowing them to mount a counterattack en route to victory.
Blacklist falters against Onic PH
ECHO's rivals, Blacklist International, however, were ousted. Despite an impressive outing from Ian Jakob "Rindo" Seguiran who proved to be a Hayabusa maestro, Onic PH was able to look for other ways to negate the opposition.
Game 1 saw Onic use Gloo and Ruby to pull key members and pick them off. Blacklist was left scrambling from this combo.
Game 3 saw Onic systematically win the most crucial teamfights. Nowee "Ryota" Cabailo was a pest as his Joy poked the backlines.
Then by the final push, Onic was able to give Kiel "Oheb" Soriano a painful blow, which led to the Hedgehogs securing the series win.
