BLACKLIST INTERNATIONAL cleared the way to the finals as the Philippines swept Cambodia, 2-0.
Sibol MLBB will next face Indonesia, who sent them to the lower bracket at the early stages.
This is also their chance to finally give the Philippines a gold medal in the IESF World Championships in Bali.
Vintage Blacklist shines again
In their previous matches, Sibol relied on Salic “Hadji” Imam’s Pharsa and Kiel “Oheb” Soriano’s Lesley combo to push turrets. They did so now against the KH team, with their damage output intimidating Cambodia as Danerie James “Wise” Del Rosario’s Fredrinn and Edward “Edward” Jay Dapadap’s Lapu-Lapu protected them.
Edward's Lapu-Lapu also pulled double duty, bursting down the opposing marksman Chhuon “Oppi” Phengkong.
While a 13th minute I’m Offended play from Tan “Tyyy” Yuongty gave a sliver of hope for Cambodia, his heroics was shortlived as Blacklist completely steamrolled the rest of the match, leading to their Game 1 win.
In Game 2, the Codebreakers stuck to the same plan, with a tweaked lineup.
This time, it was Hadji with his Yve, Wise with his Baxia, and Johnmar "OhMyV33nus" Villaluna's Diggie.
With the Diggie bombs, the Yve and Lesley barrage, and Wise's frontlining presence, Blacklist was able to push majority of the turrets early on.
It helped that Edward used a more mobile option with his Joy. He even stalled down Cambodia in the 6th minute, allowing the Codebreakers to garner more objectives.
It was too much for Cambodia to handle as they remained helpless against their gameplan, forcing them to concede the do-or-die game.
